Luxury Romantic Getaways in Colorado
Spare no expense with these spectacular romantic getaways worth splurging on in the mountains of colorful Colorado.
The Little Nell
Aspen is full of romantic places to get away, but The Little Nell tops just about every list of the most romantic places to stay in Colorado. All the rooms in this stunning 5-star hotel have gas log fireplaces to set the mood, and most have private balconies as well.
But the very best part is the ski-in/ski-out access at the base of the Silver Queen Gondola. Special ski concierges will do everything from warm your boots before you hit the slopes to tell you where to find the secret powder stashes.
After an awesome day of skiing in Aspen, you can head to the Ajax Tavern right in the hotel for après – or get room service if you want some private time.
Dunton Hot Springs
For a unique romantic stay in the lap of luxury, head to Dunton Hot Springs near the town of Telluride. This old ghost town in the San Juan Mountains has been brought back to life as a seriously sophisticated getaway.
At Dunton, hand-built log cabins surround the dance hall and saloon. While they are all some of the most romantic cabins in Colorado, the Well House is extra special with its own private hot spring inside.
The romantic experience at Dunton is unparalleled, but so is the price, so save this one for a super special occasion.
Cloud Camp at The Broadmoor
Take glamping to a literal new level at the Cloud Camp at The Broadmoor. Situated on the summit of Cheyenne Mountain, you arrive at Cloud Camp via a Cadillac Escalade shuttle, a retired Grand Canyon mule, or your own two legs on a steep hike.
At the top, you’ll find beautiful lodge rooms and cozy cabins. Check out the especially romantic Fire Tower Suite, up 145 more steps. With a private hot tub and a deck with incredible views of Pikes Peak, the secluded Fire Tower Suite is definitely one of the most romantic places in Colorado.
Stanley Hotel
Exploring the spectacular sights in Rocky Mountain National Park can be quite romantic when you’re with that special someone. The Lodge at the famous Stanley Hotel is the perfect romantic basecamp for some of the best hikes in Colorado at RMNP.
After hiking, relax in one of the well-appointed boutique rooms and savor the fresh mountain air on the outdoor patio. The quaint town of Estes Park is also a lovely place to stroll arm in arm and have a romantic meal at the excellent Bird & Jim, featuring modern mountain cuisine made with local Colorado ingredients.

More Affordable Romantic Getaways in Colorado
Indulge in a more affordable way with these couples getaways in Colorado that offer romantic ambiance without totally breaking the bank.
Cliff House at Pikes Peak
The Cliff House at Pikes Peak offers Victorian romance at a surprisingly reasonable price. The gorgeous rooms offer amenities such as fireplaces and private hot tubs. Tiy can catch the colors of a striking sunset over Pikes Peak from the hotel’s veranda. Up the romance level with an add-on package of sparkling wine, chocolate strawberries & truffles, and a rose.
When you’re ready to venture out of your room, head out on a hike around the stunning sandstone formations at Garden of the Gods or check out other great Colorado Springs hikes. You can also explore underground at Cave of the Winds.
Purple Mountain Bed & Breakfast
Crested Butte is one of the best mountain towns in Colorado, and a stay at the Purple Mountain Bed & Breakfast turns it into a really romantic getaway. This cute and cozy inn features an outdoor hot tub on a private deck, daily craft beer tastings, and a self-serve hot chocolate bar.
Purple Mountain has an in-house day spa. Not to mention, you can upgrade your stay with the “romance package” which includes a bottle of wine and a couples massage for an extra $160. Also, children under 16 aren’t allowed on the property, so you can be assured an uninterrupted adults-only escape.
Frisco Inn on Galena
For a romantic ski getaway without the resort prices, check into the Frisco Inn on Galena. Located in Summit County, Frisco is close to several of the top Colorado ski areas, including Copper, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and Beaver Creek, so you have lots of options to hit the slopes.
The Frisco Inn offers the perfect après experience with their daily Aperitivo Time of wine and complimentary appetizers. Later, you can heat things up in the hot tubs and sauna or visit Mt. Royal Spa for a massage – maybe even an in-room couples massage!

Hygge Chalet
While Grant might not be the first place that pops into your head for a romantic getaway in Colorado, the Hygge Chalet will change your mind. This adorable A-frame Airbnb is a secluded sanctuary in the woods with a barrel steam sauna, two decks, and a gas fireplace.
Explore the area with a private trail from the chalet that leads into Pike National Forest. Or drive to nearby Guanella Pass, which offers more hiking options and some of the most spectacular fall colors in Colorado if it’s leaf-peeping season.
The Shaggy Sheep Cafe just down the road might not be typically romantic, but the cute mountain cabin offers delicious comfort food that is very hygge!
Romantic Getaways in Colorado on a Budget
Turns out, the most romantic places in Colorado on a budget are hot springs! Here are the best Colorado hot springs where you can have a romantic soak and stay the night for cheap.
Orvis Hot Springs
Nestled near the San Juan Mountains in Ridgway, Orvis Hot Springs has ten different hot springs and soaking pools to enjoy with your partner. The hot springs are clothing-optional, and if you stay on the property, you get 24-hour access for a romantic evening soaking under the stars.
The cheapest way to stay at Orvis Hot Springs is by camping, which runs $37-49/per person each night. You can get a little more comfortable by booking a room in the lodge for $169/night, and that also gets you a fluffy bathrobe for your stay.
Orvis Hot Springs also offers massage therapy in yurts on the property, so you can deepen your relaxation and add more romance with a couples massage.
Strawberry Park Hot Springs
Strawberry Park Hot Springs in Steamboat Springs is my all-time favorite hot springs in Colorado. Not to mention, it makes for a great romantic getaway on a budget. While it is family-friendly during the day, children are not allowed after dark. The pools become clothing optional and there are no artificial lights. Soak au naturel under the light of the moon and stars.
You can tent camp at Strawberry Park, or pay just a little more to sleep in one of the cool covered wagons, cozy cabins, or the unique train caboose (which has a fireplace for that extra romantic ambiance). Massage therapy is also available at the hot springs.
Note: Advance reservations for both soaking and lodging are currently required due to Covid and payment on the premises is cash only.

Joyful Journey Hot Springs
Take a relaxing approach to a romantic getaway at Joyful Journey Hot Springs in the San Luis Valley of southern Colorado. You can soak in one of several thermal pools with spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Or enjoy your own space in one of the private indoor hot tubs.
Spend a romantic night in a tipi, a yurt, or set up your own tent on the grounds. Any of the lodging options include admission to the hot springs as well as a healthy, homemade breakfast and dinner. The spa at Joyful Journey offers massages and facials for an additional fee, and yoga classes are offered on the weekends.
Great Sand Dunes National Park is just a 40 minute drive from the hot springs and makes for a fun excursion for the day. The town of Crestone is even closer, and the spiritual mecca offers lots of interesting things to explore. If you’re looking for a more active romantic adventure, check out one of the 14ers in the Sangres or go climbing in Penitente Canyon.
