Meet Fox

All About Fox

Fox is my nickname, but some people call me Meg. I’m simply your average 30-something gal with an insatiable lust for adventure. Once upon a time, I was lost soul, blindly going through life doing what others wanted, trying not to make waves.

One day, I woke up and looked in the mirror. Staring back at me was a shell of the adventurous soul I once was. I decided to change. I left my old life behind. Ditched my unsupportive fiance, left my job and started from scratch. In one final symbolic act, I went with a then-friend out into the canyons and rappelled down a 60′ cliff. In that moment of terror and exhilaration, I realized I had a choice. I could reconnect with my adventurous roots or I could go back to the hollow world that I had built for myself.

Flash forward five years later and I run my own business as a freelance writer. My mission? Empower other women to get outside and have an adventure. Since then I’ve summited mountains, overcame my crippling fear of heights and taken my outdoor adventures all over the world. I’m living proof that you can change to become the person you were destined to be.

This is me, no frills, no shame, no problem. I’d rather be dirty than done up.

Adventures of Fox in the forest - Squirrel

Meet Squirrel

Squirrel (aka John) is my counterpart, some may argue my better half. I call him my best forest friend. We have been adventuring together since that fateful rappel in 2014.

We compliment each other in beautiful ways. He introduced me to the wonderful world of rocks and I nudged him into the realm of international travel. His encouragement helped me leave my soul-sucking career as an architect and chase my dreams as a writer. Over time, he’s learned how to be a strong ally for the feminine cause. Together, we make one hell of a team.

This Blog

You don’t have to be a superhero to be adventurous. In order to climb a mountain, you simply have to put one foot in front of the other. If you want to travel overseas, all you need is a ticket. Wild road trip? Some wheels. Adventure is everywhere. You are capable. The hardest part is taking the plunge. So get out there. Try something new. Look bad doing it. Who cares? No one is perfect. We all have to start somewhere.

My blog is a space where I can share my empowerment with others. Take a little risk. Push yourself a little further. You never know what you’ll find on the other side.
